Heart Headband with Bow

My daughter really liked this headband on People Webs so she asked me to make her one.  She loves hearts and pink, so I decided to personalize it for her.  It's a Christmas present, so ssshhhhh.

Materials
  • Red Heart Soft Yarn, 40 yards Red and Pink
  • H hook
Abbreviations

ch(s)--chain(s)  sc(s)--single crochet(s)

Band

With Pink Yarn Ch 72
Row 1:  Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (71 scs). Turn.

If you do your foundation row in the back bump of the ch

When making a long foundation ch I put a stitch marker in every 10 to 20 chs to help me keep track

You will get a nice edge on the bottom of your work

Rows 2 and 3:  Ch 1, sc in same st and in each st across (71 scs). Turn.

Row 4: Ch 1, sc in first two sts, start next sc, add Red Yarn, start red sc, *carry over pink yarn, do 6 full scs, start next pink sc, carry over red yarn, start red sc, *8 times, carry over pink yarn and sc to end of row. (71 sts). Turn. (You will be CARRYING the red and pink yarns from row 4 to row 8.)

Falling Leaves Ripple Cowl

I love this stitch pattern.  It's from another scarf pattern that I have but it runs down the length of the scarf.  It's very pretty, but I get tired of all that chaining (171 chs) and the long foundation row.  So I decided to turn the pattern so it runs the width of the scarf and then turn it into a cowl.    There is a stitch diagram after the written pattern.  Hope you like the changes.
